PTE wins Architect of the Year and three project awards at the British Homes Awards

08.10.20

We are delighted with the results, which saw City Park West awarded regeneration scheme of the year, New Garden Quarter win best garden/landscaping design and Athena Phase 1 recognised as sustainable development of the year.

Athena is part of the University of Cambridge’s ambitious and sustainable new development, Eddington, and was designed with Alison Brooks Architects.

The judges said "it's great to see the sustainable targets this scheme hits whilst delivering a joyful and aesthetically pleasing scheme for users."

New Garden Quarter is a development of 471 mixed-tenure homes arranged around a major new London square, with landscape design by Churchman Thornhill Finch.

"The use of water-sensitive design combined with ecological enhancements and making this a key feature throughout the scheme both as a functional and playful element is to be applauded."

City Park West is a mixed-use neighbourhood in Chelmsford of more than 600 homes featuring cafés, restaurants, workplaces, community facilities and public art.

The judges praised "the use of materials and hierarchy in the architecture" as well as the "sensitive incorporation of heritage buildings on the site and the sense of real connection to the market town centre of Chelmsford."

Our success across the categories, with three very different projects, made PTE the judge’s choice for architect of the year.
