Eastman Village (formerly Harrow View East) is an ambitious, multi-phased project on the former Kodak site in Harrow. PTE is delivering a complete new urban neighbourhood of over 2,000 homes plus workspace, retail and leisure uses within an outline planning permission previously prepared by others. The new homes include 40% affordable housing, a new extra care facility and discount market sale accommodation.

Acting as masterplanner and lead designer, PTE coordinated a team of other architectural practices: Piercy & Company, East and Makower Architects. This approach has produced ‘harmonious diversity’ across the new neighbourhood, whilst maintaining streamlined delivery and economies of scale.

Phase 1 combines 460 new homes and a new park. Five urban blocks have been designed, ranging from three to ten storeys in height, arranged around a series of communal gardens.

Phase 2 will provide 350 new homes, a gym and community use, and introduces two distinctive buildings at either end of the park, designed to improve the legibility of the masterplan, and includes car parking podiums to enable additional green spaces, including new public outdoor space and communal gardens.

Phase 3 will provide 1,226 new homes plus 1,090m2 of restaurant, café, community and commercial use.

PTE is providing a full service from concept to completion.

We are delighted to have secured reserved matters consent for the first phase of Harrow View East. We look forward to continuing our work with Hyde Group to breathe new life into this landmark site, providing much needed new homes and amenities for the area. We have a strong track record of working together on projects that deliver high quality homes and benefits for local people.”
Matt Calladine, Regional Land & Development Director, Barratt London
This is an important first step in the delivery of this key site. The housing shortage in London will only be solved if we all play our part and work together. The Harrow View East site is a prime example of how partnerships, between organisations like Barratt London and Hyde, can deliver many of the new homes that the people of Harrow and London so desperately need.”
Tom Shaw, Operations Director (Development), the Hyde Group
