The Waterman arts centre, surmounted by 105 apartments, will create a new cultural hub on this prominent and complex site off Brentford High Street. It will include a 250-seat theatre, multiplex cinema, art gallery, restaurant and extensive foyer space. The apartments are carefully modelled to optimise views and daylight and to reduce the perceived scale in relation to adjoining historic buildings.
Hounslow Council resolved to grant detailed planning permission in February 2018. PTE is lead architect, collaborating with theatre specialists Foster Wilson.
“We are delighted to have won planning for our projects in Brentford, which both support the ongoing regeneration of the town centre. Not only will we create 298 much needed homes for London, we will also provide a fantastic new facility for the Watermans Arts Centre – a vital hub that plays a massive role in the local community.”
James Tregoning, Director, London Green
