At PTE Daniel has built on his previous experience of community-led projects, working on residential Third Age schemes, and has also been involved in a large scale masterplan for a new urban village.
Daniel developed an interest in Designing for the Third Age during his Masters course. His written dissertation focussed on urban ageing and the role architects could play in analysing and improving the ‘age-friendliness’ of the urban realm. For his design thesis he helped to develop a ward wide masterplan for Everton in north Liverpool, one of the UK’s most aged and deprived areas. As part of the thesis the group carried out a series of collaborative design workshops with elderly residents.
