PTE has been winning beneficial planning consents for 40 years. The planning process has become progressively more complex, more expensive, more controversial – and slower. We negotiate successful permissions by putting a lot of energy into consultation with the local authority and the wider community, by presenting our proposals clearly in both words and images and by rigorous project management of the planning process. We keep abreast of constantly shifting planning policy and procedure, and we manage the mountain of specialist information which is now required.
Arundel Square is a bold development of 146 apartments within a conservation area and might have provoked strong objections. PTE spent many months talking to neighbours and local amenity groups and won their support for ambitious change: decking over a railway cutting to complete the fractured Victorian Square and extend and re-landscape the public gardens.
